Pink Lassi

Lassi is a traditional chilled beverage from India that is made with yogurt or buttermilk and an assortment of flavorings. It is a refreshing and cooling drink and a probiotic blend which is a treat for any time of the day-  Breakfast, Meal-on-the-go, or anytime. Pink lassi: Great taste in a power-packed probiotic beverages made with homemade dahi (yogurt) and flavored with fresh strawberries and cranberry-raspberry juice.



Ingredients:
  • 1/2 cup cranberry-raspberry juice
  • 8-10 fresh strawberries
  • 5-6 tablespoons dahi (yogurt)
  • 2-3 tablespoon sugar (or honey to taste)
  • 3-4 ice cubes

Method:

  1. In a blender, combine all the ingredients and blend it till smooth. 
  2. Taste and adjust the sugar to the desired taste. 
  3. Pour into glasses and serve.

Notes:-

Instead of cranberry- raspberry juice, you can make this lassi with fresh raspberries, strawberries, yogurt and some milk.

Minted Kiwi Melon

This delicious, green smoothie is my favorite, made from juicy, pale green Honey dew melon combined with mint leaves and the tart flavor of kiwi fruit, makes a perfect, refreshing low calories smoothie. 
Kiwi is one of the tastiest and healthiest fruits. Kiwi a day keeps the doctor away.
It is rich in vitamin C, A and E, K, omega-3 fatty acids, fiber, potassium, magnesium.  It is rich in fiber which helps improve digestion the natural way . Eating Kiwifruit can prevent depression. 
 

Honeydew melons are low in calories and fat, and high in fiber, making them a highly nutritious food. This sweet tasting fruit is packed with healthful nutrients such as vitamins and minerals and have a high water content of approximately 90 percent.
 
Ingredients:
  • 1 kiwifruit peeled and quartered
  • 2 cup honeydew melon cut into pieces
  • 1/4 cup pineapple cut into pieces
  • 10-12 fresh mint leaves
  • lemon juice to taste
  • 3-4 ice cubes
Method:
  1. In a blender, combine all the ingredients and blend it till smooth.
  2. Pour into glasses and garnish with fresh mint leaves and serve.
Notes:  For this smoothie, You can also use grapes or pears instead of pineapple.

Digestive Smoothie

Digestive Smoothies - An easy smoothie for Digestion!
We all know that smoothies are great way to start your day. Digestive smoothies are great for promoting health, improving digestion, boosting energy levels and enhancing the immune system. They are packed with energy, vitamins, minerals and anti-oxidants which are required for a healthier vibrant body and a clear focused mind.



Preparation Time : 5 mins
Cooking Time : 10 minsl
Total time : 15 min
Serving : 2

Ingredients : 
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon fennel seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon cardamom seeds
  • pinch of ground cinnamon
  • 1 drop of clove oil
  • 1 apple (peeled and cubed)
  • 1 small kiwi (peeled and cubed)
  • 8-10 grapes 
  • 2-3 mint leaves
  • 1/2" piece of ginger
  • Mint leaves for Garnishing

Method: 

  1. Boil fennel seeds and cardamom seeds in half cup of water.
  2. When it comes to boil, add ground cinnamon and clove oil. Switch off the flame. Cover and let it sit for 10 minutes.
  3. Strain and discard fennel seeds and cardamom seeds. Allow to cool down spiced water.
  4. Take apple, kiwi, grapes, mint leaves and ginger in blender. Add spiced water and Blend it till smooth.
  5. Pour into the glasses and Garnish with Mint.

Orange-mango-coconut refresher

A delicious refresher, perfect for the summer or any time of year - actually a faster refresher!
Coconut water is so refreshing and is an excellent source of potassium and B-complex vitamins and packed with enzymes that aid digestion, simple sugars, minerals and electrolytes. Nutrients in oranges  and mangoes are plentiful and diverse.



 
Ingredients:
  • 1 orange (Peeled and cubed)
  • 1/2 cup mango pieces
  • 2 cups Pure Coconut water
  • Pinch of salt
  • 4-5 ice cubes
  • 4-5 Mint leaves

Method:

  1. Combine cubed orange, Mango pieces, coconut water, salt and ice cubes in a blender jar and Blend it until very smooth.
  2. Taste and if you need add the sugar to achieve a pleasant sweet and tart flavor.
  3. Add mint leaves and let the blended mixture chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
  4. Pour into glasses and serve.
Note: you can add sugar as per your taste.

Coconut-Melon Melody

Coconut Melon Melody - Lushness of coconut and cantaloupe fruit blend.
Looking for the perfect sizzle to your summer,  easy for cook outs, coconut melon melody is a perfect drink. It is luscious, smooth and refreshing drink, great for any special occasion.

Serves : 3

Total Time : 10 mins

Ingredients:
For Blending
  • 1/2 cup grated fresh coconut
  • 3 cup of cantaloupe (cut into pieces)
  • Sugar to taste
  • 5-6 Ice cubes
For Garnishing
  • Vanilla Ice cream
  • Desiccated coconut 
  • Cherry
Method:
  1. Take the grated fresh coconut into a blender jar.  
  2. Add one and half cups of water and Blend it till smooth. 
  3. Then, Strain the milk of coconut using a fine mesh strainer.
  4. Take the cantaloupe pieces, sugar, ice cubes and coconut milk into a blender and blend it till smooth.
  5. Pour the blended mixture into glasses. 
  6. Scoop out the ice cream using scooper and place it at the top of the glass. 
  7. Then sprinkle desiccated coconut on it.
  8. Garnish it with Cherry and Serve.

Plum Juice (Aaloobhukhara sharbat)

Plum juice is healthy, nutritious, delicious and refreshing drink especially during summer days.
Plums are excellent source of vitamin C, vitamin A and K and Fiber even when juiced. It is one of the juices which helps keep your digestive system balanced. Prune (Dried plum) juice are used to relieve constipation.  



Serve: 2
Preparation Time : 10 min
cook time : 5 min

Ingredients:
  • 1 plum
  • 2 tablespoon Sugar (Adjust according to taste)
  • 2 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon Roasted cumin seed powder (Jeera Powder)
  • salt to taste (black or regular)
  • Pinch of black pepper powder
  • Lime juice to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon ginger juice

Method:
  1. Cut the plum roughly into pieces and boil them with sugar  in a cup of water. Let it cool down completely.
  2. Next take boiled Plum mixture in a blender and Blend it until very smooth.
  3. Add lime juice, Jeera(cumin seed) Powder, black pepper powder, ginger juice and salt along with another cup of water. Mix well.
  4. Taste and adjust the sugar and lime juice to achieve a pleasant sweet and tart flavor.
  5. Let the blended mixture chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes (or overnight).
  6. Strain the juice using a fine mesh strainer and serve.
Note: Instead of sugar you can use rose syrup. Also you can combine plums with other fruits like apple, peach, etc..

Strawberry Banana and Mango Lassi

Lassi is a refreshing, cool and traditional yogurt (Dahi) based Indian drink. I Love Lassi for my afternoon snack and breakfast especially during hot summer days. Strawberry, Banana and Mango lassi is very refreshing, healthy, colorful, delicious, filling and nutritious drink.



Serving: 3-4
total time: under 15 minutes

I used saffron which gives an elegant flavor to this lassi. In this recipe, first I blended strawberries with sugar and keep it aside. Then blended all the ingredients together till smooth. To serve, I poured 2-3 tablespoon of strawberry mixture into the glass and then added Mango-Banana mixture on top of strawberry mixture and garnished with few pieces of strawberry and mango.


Ingredients: 
  • 1 ripe Mango skinned and cubed
  • 1 ripe Banana skinned and roughly sliced
  • 7-8 Fresh Strawberries (Cut into Pieces)
  • 3-4 tablespoon honey or sugar (add according to ripeness of mango)
  • 2 cups of Plain yogurt (homemade or store brought)
  • 1/2 cup of chilled milk 
  • pinch of saffron
  • 1/2 teaspoon of crushed green cardamom (optional) 
  • 5-6 Ice cubes
Method:
  1. Take Strawberry pieces into blender and add 1-2 tablespoon sugar and 1 tablespoon water and blend till smooth. Keep some strawberry and mango pieces keep aside for garnishing.
  2. Pour 2-3 tablespoon of this mixture into glasses, at the bottom.
  3. Next Blend Mango Pieces, Banana slices, Yogurt (Dahi), chilled milk, sugar or honey, saffron, cardamom powder and Ice-cubes together till smooth.
  4. Pour this lassi into the glasses with strawberry mixture. So that beautiful layers get formed in the glasses.
  5. Garnish with strawberry and mango pieces on top of the lassi and serve immediately.
Note:
  • You can also add one teaspoon of ground flax seed to add good Omega-3 fatty acids.
  • If you have extra lassi then pour it into popsicle's mold and freeze them.

Pineapple Lassi

Lassi, a probiotic blend is a treat for any time of the day-  Breakfast, Meal-on-the-go, or anytime. Pineapple lassi: Great taste in a power-packed probiotic beverages made with homemade dahi (yogurt) and flavored with Pineapple, saffron and some spices.








Ingredients:
  • 1/2 cup grated/crushed Pineapple
  • 4-5 tablespoon sugar
  • 2 cup homemade yogurt (or organic)
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoon heavy cream (optional)
  • 7-8 saffron threads
  • salt on taste
  • black pepper on taste
  • 3-4 ice cubes






Method:
  • Heat the pan, add Grated Pineapple and sugar, mix well and sauté it for 2 -3 minutes.  Keep aside and Allow it to cool down completely or chill it for some time.
  • Add yogurt, milk, heavy cream, ice cubes, saffron and salt into the blender and blend it.
  • Add cooked pineapple into the yogurt mixture and Pour into the glasses.
  • Sprinkle black pepper on top of Lassi and serve.

Kiwi Raw mango Mint masala sharbat

This is a delicious, refreshing and one of the my favorite cooling drink in summer. This drink has a beautiful balance of sweet  and sour taste. Usually I made this drink using raw mango, mint leaves, cilantro and some spices. This time I added kiwi fruit to it and this sharbat really came out a fabulous dink.



Ingredients:
  • 1/2 cup raw mango (Peeled and cubed )
  • 1 kiwi fruit (Peeled and cubed)
  • 1/ 3 cup mint leaves
  • 2 tablespoon cilantro
  • 5 tablespoon sugar
  • 2 teaspoon roasted cumin seed powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 green chili (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon chaat masala
  • 5 Ice cubes
  • 6 cup chilled water
Method:
  1. Pressure cook the raw mango and keep aside.
  2. Take remaining all the ingredients and cooked raw mango in a blender jar and blend it until very smooth.
  3. Taste and adjust sugar and salt .
  4. Strain the sharbat using a fine mesh strainer and serve.
Note: If you are using a green chili, it will make a delicious spicy water for pani-puries. I always enjoy this spicy water with gol-gappas.

Peanut Butter Lassi

Peanut butter lassi is a good, creamy and protein filled snack on a warm afternoon. This lassi is a cross between milkshakes and smoothie and it is cooling and refreshing drink in the summers. I often make this delicious lassi for my afternoon snack.



Ingredients:
  • 1 cup Homemade Dahi /  Yogurt (or store brought)
  • 1/2 cup chilled milk
  • 4 tablespoon Peanut butter
  • 2 teaspoon sugar (or to taste) Or Honey
  • 1 scoop Ice-cream (of your choice and optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon Cinnamon powder
  • 3-4 Ice cubes
Method:
  1. Combine Yogurt, milk, Peanut butter, cinnamon powder, ice and sugar in a blender jar and Blend it until very smooth and it becomes frothy.
  2. Taste and adjust the sugar if needed.
  3. Serve in a Glass with little ice-cream on top.

Notes:

Cantaloupe (Melon) seeds juice

Melon seeds juice, a wonderfully delicious, unique flavored and refreshing juice splashed with lime juice, uses the flesh of the melon usually thrown away. Its an instant refreshment and its fresh smell in the glass is simply irresistible.
For this juice you just need to scoop out melon seeds and flesh (juicy pulp clinging to seeds).





Ingredients:

  • Flesh and seeds of 1 Cantaloupe
  • 2 cup water
  • 2 tablespoon Sugar (depending upon the sweetness of cantaloupe)
  • 2 teaspoon of Lime juice freshly squeezed (or to taste)
  • Mint leaves (for serving)
  • ice cubes 


Method:
  1. Combine melon seeds and flesh, water and sugar in a blender jar and Blend it until very smooth.
  2. Add lime juice. Taste and adjust the sugar and lime juice to achieve a pleasant sweet and tart flavor.
  3. Let the blended mixture chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes (or overnight).
  4. Strain the juice using a fine mesh strainer and serve.

If you want you can add cardamom powder for extra flavor.
